Talking to Myself

Closed eyes reveals myself more than eyes wide open. Adnan Kakazai.

I wake up with you

I wake up with you
In a tent
With dust and heat
Surrounding us
Hardship written
All over the walls
Poor for this world
But rich for our love

I wake up with you
With long day ahead
Without knowing
There will be any food
To pass the day

I wake up with you
To go out to earn
You took your way
And I mine
I carrying your heart
And you mine

I wake up with you
To take lunch
At two different places
Eating at the same time
Feeling each other
A smile comes in the eyes

I wake up with you
To wait for the sun
To go down
Indicating the time
To meet again
After working in dust and dirt
I buy a gift for you
And food for the dinner
While going back

I wake up with you
To see, feel and absorb
The smile
Which you present me
As I enter our tent
Taking away
All my tiredness

I wake up with you
To take the dinner
When your fingers
Leave the food in my mouth
In between the sharpness of my teeth
And the softness of the tongue
When your body heat
From your fingers
Enables the food to melt
In my mouth

I wake up with you
For this time to come
After a long day
I want to live
In this moment
For the rest of my life
When you hold
My rugged hand
Seeing in my eyes
Talking but saying nothing
When love is all around us
At the end of the day
While
I wake up with you
In morning

  1. Oh to love like this. I love the format of your poetry, the conciseness and the way you repeat a phrase. No wonder people write so many poems on love. It is such a good metaphor for life. Hugs, pat

  2. Thanks for your appreciation Pat…..

  3. Thanks Dr_IQ,
    One word says all……
